Mobile Money Transfer Service- Revised Service Tax

Subject: Mobile Money Transfer Service- Revised Service Tax

Dear Sir,

This is regarding the attached notification issued by Govt. of India (Ministry of Finance) regarding the revised Service Tax. The rate of Service Tax is being increased by 0.5% due to Krishi Kalyan Cess as per the Notification, increase in Service Tax rate will come into effect from 1st June,2016.

Since the service belongs to Deptt. of Posts and Service tax is getting directly collected from customers end, so as per rules /guidelines DOP is supposed to deposit the full amount of service tax collected to government/ Deptt. Of Service tax. It is therefore intimated through this mail that with effect from 1st June,16 the revised rates will be applicable for Mobile Money Transfer Service across the circles.

Please intimate the respective Regions , Divisions and Post offices that the new Tariff applicable for the said service is as below:

Rs 46/- (Rs 6 S.T) Round off

Rs 1501/- to Rs 5000/-
Rs 81/- (Rs 10.5 S.T) Round off

Rs 5001/- to Rs 10000/-
Rs 115/- (Rs 15 S.T) Round off

Circular in this regard may be issued at the earliest.
