The Commission has reportedly recommended a minimum pay of Rs 18,000 per month, with the upper ceiling at Rs 225,000 a month. Industry bodies Ficci, Assocham and CII welcomed the government decision that will boost the consumer demand and uplift the economic growth of the country. Undoubtedly, hike in the salaries of the government staff is a welcome move; nevertheless, there is no such commission for the bulk of labour force that is engaged in the unorganized sector, which is in a miserable plight. "The benefits to state employees will be equivalent to the central government employees". Talking to reporters here, AICC senior spokesperson Ajay Maken said, "This seventh Pay Commission has been the most disappointing and has seen the lowest hike in salaries in independent India".
