NMC demands developmental package for J&K State on the pattern of similar package for Bihar
Jammu, August 23 (Scoop News)-President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to Prime Minister to announce a developmental package for J&K State on the pattern of similar package for Bihar.
“The state has for more challenges and problems. To ameliorate the precarious budgetary position which the state is facing, the central government should be liberalenough to provide grants”. Shastri said.
Shastri while interacting with media persons also highlighted the issue of Daily Wagers regularization who are 61000 in number and are running the vital essential services and whose dues are pending for the past several years.
A package of 2000 crores as part of a larger grant will pave the way for early regularization of their services in one go and release of pending dues of such category of staff and should hence forth be regular annual future of budgetary support from centre.
Shastri reminder the top leadership of BJP at the centre and the state that during the run up to parliamentary and state assemblyelections of 2014 its promise of mitigating the suffering of Daily Wagers in addition to their regularization , but even after being part of government at state as well as centre for more than a year, the government is yet to fulfill its own promises.
While appreciating the position taken by Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister & Minister of State (PMO) who have on many occasions brought the issue of labour class on the forefront. “Prime Minister’s personal intervention is also going to help the Daily Wagers” Shastri said.
While emphasizing on the need for early release of 7 percent DA due from July last, Shastri urged Modi to announce and release the same installment of DA in favor of both central and state Govt. employees and pensioners at the next union cabinet meeting adding that the salaried class was facing lot of economic hardship due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA installment would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them. The delayed in release of DA would not only puts burden on the Central Govt. exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of both Central and State Governments employees and pensioners, he added.
Immediate release of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in PWD,Irrigation and flood control department,PDD and PHE and other departments of the state Govt. well before ensuing festivals, early creation of separate wage Head in each department for disbursement of pending wages,include Jammu city in the proposed 100 smart cities, setting up of labor welfare advisory Board on the pattern of other states labor welfare Board, enhance wages of daily rated workers to rupee ten thousand per month, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily rated workers working in rural development department for the last twenty years falls under SRO 64 and release of all pending salary of motivators working in IWDP phase ii were other demandshighlighted by Shastri on the occasion.
Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Barkat Ram, Subash Sharma, Jai Pal Sharma, Sawarn Bhagat, Girdhari Lal, Sudesh Kumar, Bupinder Singh, Sham Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Surrinder Kumar, Tilak Raj, Darshan Lal, Vijay Kumar and others.
