On Friday, retired bank officer Kailash Behera had posted on Facebook how the employees at the Nabrangpur Head Post Office were covering themselves with a plastic cover to seek protection from rain water, thanks a to a leaking roof.
The issue was flagged by the Odisha News Insight on Twitter by tagging the PMO India, India Post Office and Union Ministers RS Prasad and Manoj Sinha.
The PMG at Berhampur responded today with the following message, “Due to financial constraints, repairing/maintenance not covered earlier, but being done during this financial year and is in progress”.
We thank Mr. Kailash Behera for highlighting this issue and the Centre for taking steps to resolve it. It’s the power of citizen journalism and social media!
