Against alleged anti-people policies

Central employees to join Sept. 2 strike

Central government employees will join the nationwide strike called by workers and trade unions on September 2 to protest against the alleged anti-national policies of the National Democratic Alliance government.

This was announced here on Saturday by leaders of the Confederation of Central Government Employees.

Former national secretary of the confederation C.C. Pillai said the implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission had been highly disappointing to the Central employees.

The recommendations were implemented arbitrarily without holding any talks with representatives of the employees., Mr. Pillai alleged.

He said in Kollam district, employees from the Postal Department, Income Tax, Central Excise and Provident Fund would join the strike.

A meeting organised here on Friday to endorse the views was presided over by the Confederation district secretary B. Ajayakumar.
