Sub: - Unjustified delay in processing  the GDS Membership Verification Serving Notice of Indefinite Hunger Fast from 18^th January-17 in front of Dak Bhawan, New Delhi.

Sir,

            It is highly regretted to  note that the process of Membership Verification  for GDS employees  was announced by the Postal Directorate  under  letter No.130/2016-SR dated  2^nd  March-15, but  still the process has not been started. We have already written and discussed with Secretary and other officers several times but no positive step has been taken yet.

            As per EDAs RSA Rules, the term of recognition expired in April-2016. But even after lapse of valid term of 5 years and without going in membership verification process, the recognition has been granted to AIGDS Union which totally in violation of rules. It is also worth mentioning that the said union could not conduct its All India Conference and election of office bearers within 27 months, but even than the said union was granted recognition.

            We demand either recognition of AIGDS Union should be withdrawn or other applicant unions may also be granted recognition and Trade Union facilities till the finalization of process of new membership verification.

`           Therefore, we are compelled to go on indefinite hunger fast by All Secretary  General/General Secretaries & All India Office Bearers of NFPE Unions   from 18.01.2017 in front of Dak Bhawan  demanding early Membership Verification  of GDS including publishing of report of GDS Committee.

            We hope that the matter may kindly be taken in good sense and the issues should be settled failing which we will be compelled to chalk-out serious  programme of action.
