BENGALURU: A heap of sealed Aadhaar envelopes carrying ID cards, cheque books from various banks for delivery to their account holders and letters, all carrying the stamp and seal of India Post, were found by the roadside in Chikkajala, off Ballari Road, on Sunday.
An eyewitness said the letters and covers were all marked for delivery to various addressees in Chikkajala. Police and senior postal officials rushed to the spot.
Chikkajala residents said "a postman living in Doddajala might have thrown away these postal material instead of delivering them to the addressees". Chikkajala police said they are not in the loop but sources in the postal department acknowledged the incident. "This is a serious issue. We will start investigating this. If a postman has done this we will take serious action against him," a postal department official said.
